The Moon That Bled Until It Was Dark

The ocean suddenly became empty
The day you ran off with my heart
Your mouth uttered charmed promises that were broken from the start

The moon bled until it was dark
Mourning the shining love it once embarked
The tenderness of my hopeful eyes
Would cry until the embodiment of turmoil drained every spark

I don't want to hear your voice of lies
So many walls have been built to hold agonizing sighs
The titanic of selfish ambitions into crashing highs
To lows that brought my feet to the soil where feelings morose & die

Grape Flavored Gum

You are like grape flavored gum
You came on strong
Poignant in vibrant perfection
When you hit my tongue
Combustions of full bodied feelings
Rested in the back of my throat
Your words fed my hunger
Your sugary sweetness held me like a coat
Your eyes kept me waiting
While your kisses sent me afloat
HEROIC KEY

Subtly suited in a gentle posture of rare eminence

The prestige of a god wounded by a tumultuous reckoning

Clothed in the pride of a family heritage that birthed perfection

Broken over the hardened fist of a father's fury

Sifting in the grief of a lost dream under the heated irony

Falling from the love of youthful lips
To the cruelty of a lover's lying kiss

The journey of hardship and barrenness could not put him under

For he stood upright in victory,  triumphant over death, holding high the heroic key
