Pilgrim's Kiss

I'll bring you the stars cut out from my name

Place them in your palm as a pilgrim's kiss

Pick every weed from where your dreaming eyes journey

Heal you of every false fear that penetrates your skin

I will rebuild the ruins that seize  victory under the soles of your feet

If I have to lay myself down on the lowly ground,

To catch your weary mind from crumbling, no hesitation will restrain

There's nothing that can separate my heart from where you are

Over the wilted flowers of time and the shadows in the darkened sea

In all the distance and want I will wait wrapped in linens of mercy

imagine us there::paris

From the hanging blushing lights of the Parisian cafe
To the flambeau candles that cast effulgence on the walls inclosed in brick lay

                            imagine us there

Walking lightly over cobble stoned streets
Speaking in the verse of a famous line of Yeats

     imagine us there

Hands entwined, engulfed in silence,  soaking in the splendor of art
Stepping into the history of ten thousand years, past remnants in architectural part

                              imagine us there

Tombstones of the conquered and beseeched, lovers and emperors
Let my life be buried here in the soil, next to yours- the hand of a magical rebirth by a conjuror

                    imagine us there

Lay down with me in the streets of the Boulevard Montmartre and get lost under French skies
After all, you are my conquest, I live off of the vigorous life line deep within the soul of your eyes

Daydream

I stop, I sit, I daydream

Adrift in a world that's sincere

Dust floats with flecks of gold

Truth untold, my tongue lay upon utterance

If your ear were not deaf to hear

To encompass the longing in my pulse for what is real

Would you be brave enough to wait with me there,

To endure with patience until the truth becomes clear?

Would you pour your words into glass,

Hold the life inside of me until the darkness has passed,

Pick every thorn from my flesh,

Kiss every wound that has been beaten into my chest?

I need the simple things re-born

A childlike radiance to overcome

This life is much too harsh

Unraveled, I've come undone

My eyelids drop heavy in the dew of yesterday

Wipe off defeat from my olive skin

My mind is in need of a great win

So I stop, I sit, I daydream

Sleepwalking Shadows

Your love was a deep anchor of healing
Pulling me down from the lonely white of sedentary ceiling

Your touch broke the vault of my hardened chest
You were a king of sorts, purified in a glow of the moon's adorning crest

Sleepwalking shadows of our outline still line my head
Your porcelain smile still awakens my dreamy mind from bed

Sipping Sauvignon Blanc from your beckoning lips
Under a blanket of sunset stretched upon mountainous tips

There I laid every unselfish vow of love on your chest
Laced your fingers with mine and gave you my best
